I think this blog will be less tedious if I group a few training sessions into each post (rather than posting lots of unsubstantial daily entries). Here’s what I’ve been up to since the Hyde Park Relays…
On Sunday the weather was awful so I went to the gym for my first resistance training session in almost two weeks. The time off really showed because afterwards I ached quite a lot.
Yesterday I went on a good 12km run. It was almost the same route that I did a couple of weeks ago but in reverse… along the river around Big Ben and back through the three parks. It is a really nice run with lots of variety and things to look at. I think I will try and do it at least once a week from now on. The run ended at my university gym so afterwards I met up with a friend and we sat in the Jacuzzi for an hour; I an excellent way to treat tired muscles!
Today I did a brisk 7 km run around the perimeter of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. It felt very good and I kept up a good pace all the way round. My time was 26mins… I think that’s a new personal best!
