New Year’s Resolution

Well I’m back from my Christmas holidays! I went away for three weeks and had a great holiday but unfortunately no training. However, I did download a 16 week training program (starts on the 2nd January) which looks really good. I decided that if I wanted to get my scorching target time I would have to do a lot of training… so I went for the advanced plan! It wasn’t until I had downloaded it that I realised what I had done… I get 1 day off every 2 weeks… and after my first week I was expected to do a 17 mile run! But my New Year’s Resolution is to stick with it. The first few weeks will be tough but after that it should hopefully get easier.

I really like the program because everyday it has you doing a different activity – for example: short run, long run, interval run, gym, etc… This means that you don’t get bored, you are always focusing on different aspects of your running so you should improve faster and you are less likely to get injured.

So how is the program going so far? Well I missed the first week because I was away, but I’ve really got stuck into the second week! Sunday was supposed to be 17 miles but that would have killed me… so I went for a breaking in run of 5 miles. Then from Monday I have been following the program precisely (And man do my legs ache!).
